Let us show you the beauty of Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos
Bordered by Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, China and Thailand, Laos is the least developed of the old Indochinese states. The country is packed with beautiful scenery, relaxed and friendly people, great food and stunning sights. With a long and fascinating history of royalty, occupation and struggles for independence, Laos is still very new to the travel scene when compared to the more established destinations like Thailand and Vietnam, though the major centres have a range of accommodation and facilities to suit most tastes. The capital city Vientiane, which follows the mighty Mekong, has a very laid back small town atmosphere. Here you will find Pha That Luang, Laos' national symbol, and Patuxai, or ''Arch of Triumph'', inspired by the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Further north lies Luang Prabang, the former royal capital and seat of Lao culture. Surrounded by mountains, and bordered by both the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, this sleepy town is visually stunning.
There is an astonishing array of gilded temples and shrines, including the wonderfully ornate Wat Xieng Thong, and the early morning procession of the local monks in their saffron robes is a colourful sight that is truly magical.
The northern areas of Laos, like Luang Prabang, feature a distinct winter period stretching from November through February, during which time it can get quite chilly. Between the North and South there can be quite a difference in temperature, as well as rainfall, with the North generally getting lower levels. The rainy season stretches from April / May through to mid-October.
