HALONG ADVENTURE

3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS

Day 1: Hanoi - Halong Bay - Cat Ba
Start out early this morning on an overland drive to Halong Bay. Made famous when it was featured in the French film Indochina, Halong Bay is dotted with thousands of limestone islands, their jagged points jutting out of an oceanic area of over 1500 sq. kilometres. Considered Vietnam's natural wonder, it is also believed to be home to its very own Loch Ness monster!

Upon arrival, you will enjoy a peaceful cruise onboard a traditional junk on the Bay with a delicious seafood lunch on board, stopping at some of the grottoes and caves on the islands to explore on foot and go on Cat Ba island which is the largest island in Halong Bay.

Day 2: Cat Ba - Hai Phong
Cat Ba National Park is home to 20 types of mammals - including Francois monkeys, wild boar, deer, squirrels and hedgehogs - and 69 species of birds have been sighted, including hawks, hornbills and cuckoos. The Park is also home to a unique species of tree called Cay Kim Giao (for aspiring horticulturists the Latin name is Podocarpus fleuryi Hickel). In ancient days kings and nobles would only eat with chopsticks made from this lumber anything poisonous it touches really does turn the light coloured wood to black.

Early this morning, an old van will take you to the National Park of Cat Ba island to visit the Trung Trang cave and have a short trek to the park. Late morning return to town and lunch at local restaurant.

Later in the afternoon, you?ll take a hydrofoil to return to Hai Phong, Northern Vietnam's busiest port and a city resplendent with French Colonial architecture.

Day 3: Hai Phong - Hanoi
After breakfast at hotel, you have an orientation of Hai Phong city. Visit Du Hang Pagoda which was founded three centuries ago. Thought it has been rebuilt several times, it remains a good example of traditional Vietnamese architecture and sculpture. Continue to Hang Kenh Communal House which is known for its 500 relief sculptures in wood. The area the structure is in was once part of the village of Kenh.
Journey back to Hanoi and ending our service
