Depart Luang Prabang at approximately 9 am and transfer by road to the Elephant Camp, located in the countryside near the Nam Khan River approximately 15 kilometres from Luang Prabang town.

On arrival you will be introduced to the protected Asian Elephants and then depart for a scenic elephant ride. Enjoy the new perspective and the wonderful nature on this 1 to 1.5 hour ride through forests, rice paddies and along the Nam Khan River.

The elephant ride finishes at the beautiful Tad Xae waterfalls, where clear waters cascade over multi-level limestone formations.

There will be time to relax or take a dip in the refreshing cascades, and enjoy a picnic lunch nearby the waterfalls.

A short trip by local style boat will bring you back to the Elephant Camp, and then transfer by road back to Luang Prabang town arriving approximately 2 - 3pm.

The remainder of the day is at own arrangements.

Note: If it is not possible to do the elephant ride route to Tad Xae waterfall or the return boat journey due to weather conditions, water levels or other local conditions a ride of similar duration to a local village will be arranged instead.

Clients may have to accept waiting times as we are cooperating with animals. Delays may happen on any of the elephant trails (for example during rain, high water, muddy trails, elephants? walking speed, etc). While all care will be taken the elephant ride is undertaken at the client?s own risk, and no responsibility or liability will be accepted by Vietnam Tours, our local partners, local guides or the Elephant Camp. No refunds will apply if the elephant ride is cancelled for any reason (sickness, bad weather, etc).
